Motivation naturally dips once the novelty of a new routine wears off, usually somewhere around week three or four — this is normal, not a sign of failure.
Shift the target you’re watching
Scale weight and visible change move slowly and unevenly. Tracking workout consistency, energy levels, or strength numbers gives feedback that updates weekly instead of waiting on the mirror to agree.
Lower the bar on hard days
A 10-minute session still counts as showing up. Protecting the habit, even in a reduced form, keeps the routine alive through low-motivation weeks that would otherwise break it entirely.
Revisit your reason periodically
Reconnecting with why the goal mattered in the first place — more energy, less pain, keeping up with your kids — tends to be more sustaining than chasing a number on a scale.
